Defiant Celtic's manager insists he is not worried about being fired however supporters unleash wrath after derby defeat.
The Celtic boss declared he did not fear losing his job, maintaining, “I believe we are extremely close to things turning around,” despite edging perilously close to being fired with a comprehensive setback against the Ibrox side.
A Second-Half Capitulation Leads to Derby Disaster
The home side were ahead the visitors at half-time but a collapse after the break allowed Rangers to draw level on points with the reigning league title holders. The French coach, who was hired from the MLS, has now overseen six defeats in his last eight matches.
“The board and I are united at the club,” stated the manager.
Questioned about the speculation, Nancy replied: “That’s not my focus. My focus is on working out methods to aid my players to improve on details.
Protest Erupts
Hundreds of supporters voiced their fury – towards the board and manager – by protesting at full time. The board would be most likely to bring back the former boss, who enjoyed a successful caretaker period previously, should a change be made.

Nancy’s Persistent Belief
Nancy highlights the fact his team can perform strongly for one half at a time. In fact, but for wastefulness in front of goal they would have been greater than 1-0 up. “The performance had merit except the fact that we didn't take our chances,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but I must remain balanced.
“The performance we had at times was really, really, really high. This is the reality. I could not say that if it was different. That is the reason, regarding outcomes, I mentioned we've seen this before. For that reason I said that we are nearly there to a shift in fortunes. Right now: small things.”
“I saw many, many good things that we did, like today again. The issue now is consistency. My narrative would be different if I didn't believe it. Therefore I am convinced we’re going to be able to turn things around.”
Opposition Reaction Outlook
Rangers manager was cautious about a title charge in spite of what seemed like a statement victory. “One match at a time, then we can really build up momentum,” he said. “The faith in the team is excellent.”
