England Coach Tim Southee Uncertain on The Ashes Participation
Tim Southee's last Test for the Kiwis was against England in the final month of 2024.
England fast-bowling advisor Tim Southee is currently evaluating the extent of his role will be during the forthcoming Ashes series in Australia.
The former Kiwi pace bowler is only likely to be available for the opening match due to his involvement in the ILT20 tournament, which begins on December 2 in the United Arab Emirates.
The 36-year-old, aged 36, assumed a position as the English team's pace bowling advisor in the summer after taking 391 wickets in 107 Test matches for New Zealand.
Speaking as the English team for the first of three Twenty20 games against New Zealand was announced, Southee said of his participation: "We are still evaluating that at the present time.
"We'll see what happens over the coming days."
English pace icon Broad had declared the Australian side as their "worst team since 2010", but Southee was in little doubt over the anticipated challenge during the series, which begins on November 21.
"In my view there's at any time a poor Australian cricket team," Southee said.
"The team's attention is squarely on our own objectives. I think the caliber of [the English] side that's heading out to the host country is brilliant.
"It ought to be an thrilling encounter, the Ashes. Not just [are|do] English and Australian people looking forward to it, I believe the entire cricketing community is."
But, prior to England head to the city of Perth for the opening Ashes Test, they face New Zealand in the city of Christchurch on this Saturday.
