Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is unclear and the US has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
